KNEC Extends Deadline for Schools to Upload 2026 KPSEA and KJSEA Scores

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has extended the deadline for schools to upload 2026 KPSEA and KJSEA school-based assessment and project scores.

In a notice to heads of institutions, the council set the revised deadline at September 30, 2026. The extension gives schools more time to complete the submissions.

The scores cover the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), including the required school-based and project assessments.

KNEC has urged heads of institutions to use the additional time to ensure that scores for all candidates are uploaded within the revised period.

The council has also instructed schools to enter “AB” for candidates who were absent. This allows an absence to be recorded clearly instead of leaving an unexplained gap in a candidate’s assessment record.

Schools that have already entered scores can use the remaining time to check their submissions for omissions or incorrect entries.

Heads of institutions are responsible for ensuring that the information submitted is complete and accurately reflects each candidate’s performance or participation.

The extension is particularly relevant to schools that had not finished uploading their scores by the earlier deadline. They now have an opportunity to finalise the process before September 30.

School-based assessments are part of how learners’ progress and competencies are tracked under Kenya’s competency-based education system. Accurate submission is therefore a key part of the assessment process.

With the revised deadline approaching, KNEC is asking schools to complete their checks and submit all outstanding scores on time.
